UM alumni and friends are among the most loyal anywhere.
We ask them why they give. Their answers are rarely one-dimensional:
Warren Wilcox (B.S., Business, 1965), chair of the UM Foundation Board of Trustees and his wife, Betsy Ross Wilcox (M.A., Education, 1966) made a leadership gift of $250,000 to each of the UM schools from which they earned their degrees. Their gifts will help construct the Gilkey Center for Executive Education in the School of Business Administration and the School of Education’s Phyllis J. Washington Education Center. The couple hopes to lead the charge on getting other donors on board for both projects. “Educating students is the core of what the University is all about,” says Warren. Betsy, who serves on the advisory board for the education center project adds, “It is through education that lives are changed.”
